Software Engineering

The purpose of this project is to develop a new tool for ALS

The Problem

• Palliative care has a central role in maintaining the quality of life of

ALS patients and includes breathing exercises.

• Studies showed that breathing exercises could slow the

deterioration of respiratory functions of ALS patients and improve

their quality of life.

• Today, many ALS patients perform such exercises in physical

therapy institutes, and at their home.

Our Solution

• Develop a friendly, gamification-based solution for respiratory

training for ALS patients.

• Engage family members, care givers at home and clinicians in the

training process and allow them to monitor compliance.

• Achieve high accuracy of training.

Project status -

The app will be presented as a pilot to several physiotherapists.

Later on, after iterations of improvements we plan to release an alpha version to

a larger number of users.
